Brennan Connors & Stray Passage is a free jazz and improvised music trio. The group features Brian Grimm on bass and contracello, Geoff Brady on drums and percussion, and Brennan Connors on saxophones. From fiery high energy music to focused minimalism, the ensemble’s performances balance narrative, noise, and beauty.

Saxophonist Tony Barba and percussionist Michael Brenneis will join forces for a set of improvised music. Tony is a member of the internationally touring ensemble Youngblood Brass Band. After 12 years in New York City, he currently resides in Madison and plays locally with many groups including Johannes Wallamnn’s Quartet and the Big Payback. Michael Brenneis is a drummer who musicians like to play with and audiences like to listen to. He performs with a very long list of groups that include Tomato Box, The Ten Sleeps Trio, Alison Margaret, and The New Breed.

Tontine Ensemble // Netmoiré trio  // Lovely Socialite

Netmoiré creates an energetic, abstract, and mercurial experience that blends the avant-garde with electronic, beat-driven music. Netmoiré is an improvisational trio featuring Jason Charney (computer), Josh Simmons (computer), and Nick Zoulek (saxophones). The trio came together while pursuing graduate studies at Bowling Green State University, and bonded over a shared passion for improvisation. Searching for the overlaid patterns found through improvisational networking, Netmoiré creates an energetic, abstract, and mercurial experience that blends the avant-garde with electronic, beat-driven music. Their influences and inspirations include Death Grips, Colin Stetson, J Dilla, Tim Hecker, Evan Parker, Ben Frost, and most importantly, an affinity for chaotic sound.

SISTERS THREE   (AJ’s Farewell Show)

Join ‘Sisters Three’ for our farewell performance on Saturday with Tatsuya Nakatani & Spiral Joy Band. This will mark our final show for the next 1.5(+) years as we say goodbye to our dear guitarist/wordsmith/weird-sister, Huckleberry Grimm, who is heading on to new adventures in Japan!!  Let us send him off together with good spirits!

We are absolutely thrilled to share the bill with Tatsuya Nakatani, one of our favorite performers.  With kindred respect towards the exploration of deep-meditations in sound, we prepare to journey inward into unexplored lands during his set this Saturday.  If you think you’ve experienced the entire energy potential of overtones and harmonics stored within a cymbal or gong… think again!  Come, be transported as Tatsuya calls those vibrations forth with his finely hand crafted bows, releasing the gong’s elemental powers!
